An event aimed at promoting locally produced food will be held at Blaenavon Workmen’s Hall on Thursday 22 Feb.
The Food Summit, organised by Torfaen Council’s food resilience team, is the first of its kind in the borough and residents will get the chance to meet local producers, get tips on how to reduce food waste and sample some free curry.

The first part of the day is aimed at businesses and organisations. To attend, please contact Food4Growth@torfaen.gov.uk
Members of the public are invited to attend a free event later in the day between 3.30pm until 7pm.
This is a free event.
The Food Resilience Programme has received £991,426 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The programme aims to increase the amount of locally produced affordable food and find sustainable ways of tackling food poverty through the Sustainable Food Partnership.

Regenerative gardening often represents a food revolution. A revolution of care that restores soil health by nourishing the soil naturally and adapting our gardening practices to be better in tune with the rest of the natural world, instead of degrading it or trying to fix it in artificial ways. In return, the soil cares for us.

Here you will find information, recipes, ideas and inspiration to help you make choices around food and cooking that will benefit your health, your local community and the planet. Our aim is not tao tell you what to eat, we are not going to push any particular dietary regime on you, instead we want to help you become part of the sustainable food future that we and our earth so desperately need
